Biography & Introduce
Melvin Thathiah graduated from Texas A&M University with a Bachelor of Arts in English. There he participated in many student organizations and his fraternity, Lambda Chi Alpha. He attended Florida Coastal School of Law and graduated with his Juris Doctorate. He has been licensed to practice in Texas since May 2005 and has since gathered years of civil and criminal trial experience.
Mr. Thathiah was appointed and sworn into the bench in 2015 to be an Associate Judge for the Justice of the Peace Courts in Collin County. He heard examining trials, truancy matters, small claims, debt claims, and evictions.
Mr. Thathiah was also able to make it home for dinner most nights with his loving family and also make it to church on Sunday. He is married to Alyson and is a dedicated father to Taryn and Caleb. They are members of the Heights Baptist Church. He is also a regular volunteer in Plano Independent School District and loves to spend time watching his kids play the sports they love or do outdoor activities like hunting and fishing.
Mr. Thathiah strives to be an attorney guided by providing the best service he can to his clients, especially when they may be going through some of their worst times. He is excited to be an attorney at Carpenter & Associates to serve the community at a firm that is focused on truly helping people.
